Tough one to close. BOOMTOWN BOSS (13) returned in the $1 million Archer over 1300m at Rockhampton last start and did a great job late to get up for third. Has a fine second-up record and can build on that today with the blinkers going on for the first time. LORD OF BISCAY (15) thrashed them in the Midway Final at Randwick two back then battled on well for third in the rich Tamworth Cup over 1400m last time out. Gets some weight relief which brings him right into this race. Keep an eye on track conditions - prefer him if it doesn't stay heavy. THE INFLICTOR (7) has kicked off this campaign with two excellent efforts, the latest when close up in the Archer. Loves Doomben and is yet to miss the frame on heavy tracks. Fan favourite who is right in contention. TUNED (14) resumed in good order at the Gold Coast and relishes these track conditions. SWEYNESDAY (4) impressed on his Australian debut last start although untested beyond 1200m he is worth plenty of thought.
