BIRDMAN (4) appreciated a reset after the Australian Cup and ran a game race in the Hollindale a fortnight ago, taking a stack of ground off Jenni. McDonald will get him chasing again before the turn and over an extra 200m her can turn the tables today. HALF YOURS (1) also closed well in the Hollindale but not as impressively as Birdman. Really needs 2000m to show his best and this has always been the target. Has a fair bit of leeway to make up but we know he is good enough. PRIDE OF JENNI (6) did her thing last start and despite getting very tired she held off today's chief rivals at the Gold Coast. Hasn't won two in a row since November 2023 and 2000m is as far as she likes. Can break their hearts without surprising though. SHE'S A HUSTLER (7) was good late in the Hollindale and her form at this trip is very good. Can go to this next level. VAUBAN (2) is back from an eight-week break. Might be at his best when fresh but this will be gruelling so there are some doubts.
