This Fight Night card will be held at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, USA. The card is scheduled for Saturday, 22 February.

Major Fighters in UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs Song

Henry Cejudo

Although former UFC flyweight and bantamweight championHenry Cejudo has fallen off in recent years, he remains one of the best in the bantamweight division. His wrestling ability is his key talent, which saw him win an Olympic gold at the 2008 Olympics and reach the pinnacle of the UFC. His 3-year break after winning the bantamweight belt from Dominic Cruz was ill-advised in hindsight after he lost his two most recent fights.

Song Yadong

Song Yadong is ranked as the number 8 bantamweight in the UFC, with recent wins of Chris Gutierrez and Ricky Simon. However, he lost his last fight against Petr Yan, meaning he has a lot of work to do to work his way into title contention. So far, the Team Alpha Male fighter is 21-8-1 in his professional MMA career, with 10 wins, 3 defeats and 1 draw in the UFC.

Brendan Allen

Currently ranked at number 9 in the UFC middleweight division, Allen’s most recent fight was a disappointing loss against Imavov. Before that, he had won 7 fights in a row, including an impressive 4-fight win streak of rear naked choke finishes. While he might still have title aspirations, he definitely needs a few more wins to climb the rankings.

Anthony Hernandez

Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez looks like a potential contender in the middleweight division. He’s currently on a 6-fight win streak, with his last loss against Kevin Holland in 2020. The 13-2 fighter is a great grappler, with 62% of his wins so far coming by way of submission. Hernandez won performance of the night bonuses in his last 2 fights, including a submission win against Roman Kopylov last year, and he’s now ranked 12th.

Fight Cards & Betting Odds

Main Event

Cejudo probably shouldn’t have left the sport in 2020 when he was at the top of the division after securing his second belt. After returning to the UFC, the Olympic gold medalist now has two back-to-back losses. As a result, he’s now the underdog in this fight. However, it’s worth pointing out that his two losses were against Aljamain Sterling and Merab Dvalishvili, two incredible fighters.

Yadong is the current favourite in this matchup, likely because he has more activity and recent wins. Although he suffered a unanimous decision loss in his last fight against Petr Yan, it’s important to note that Yan is among the best fighters in the bantamweight division. Yadong Song doesn’t have any wins of Cejudo’s calibre on his record, but he’s a significant favourite against Cejudo based on the latest UFC odds.

Co-Main Event

Allen was disappointed in his last fight, failing to effectively grapple against Imavov despite his excellent background. Did he have an off night or has his talent for finding submissions been found out? Allen is now fighting down the rankings, but the oddsmakers have him as the underdog.

Hernandez has impressed in his recent performances and looks better each time he enters the Octagon. As a result of his 6-fight win streak and the fact he’s finished his last 4 opponents, he’s the favourite according to the MMA odds. It will be interesting to see how this fight goes and whether it stays standing or ends up on the ground.
