History of Dota 2 - DreamLeague

DreamLeague was created in 2013 by DreamHack, an Esports event organiser based in Sweden. The tournament was originally partnered with 6 Esports teams from Europe and North America. However, as the tournament has grown, the number of teams and regions involved has increased.

In 2017, DreamLeague Season 8 was included as part of the Dota Pro Circuit, with the DreamLeague Major giving teams a chance to earn points towards qualifying for The International.

Then, in 2023, Dream League Season 19 became part of the ESL Pro Tour, increasing the prestige of the tournament and meaning teams earn EPT points depending on their final standings.
