When placing multi bets at Stake Sportsbook, you can now protect yourself using the new Stake Shield feature. Which gives you more control over your flexi bets and is incredibly simple to use. Read on to find out what it is, how it works and how to place a multi bet with Stake Shield.
What is Stake Shield?
The Stake Shield is now available at Stake Sportsbook and can be activated on multi bets with 3 or more legs. This feature lets you choose a custom win condition, reducing the number of legs that need to win for your bet to payout. Simply select the option that works for you, and the odds will be adjusted based on the risk. It’s essentially a kind of multi bet insurance. But rather than offering you your stake back, you can still win your bet, albeit at lower odds.
How Does Stake Shield Work?
Stake Shield is an optional feature that you can use to protect your multi bets at Stake Sportsbook. Multi bets, also known as parlay bets, allow you combine multiple bets, known as legs or selections, into a single bet. You can also place same game multi bets, sometimes known as bet builders, at Stake.
For example, you might place an NBA multi bet on the NY Knicks, Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz to all win their upcoming games. The odds are higher, since each leg must win for your multi bet to payout. Normally, if any of the teams you pick don’t win, your multi bet will lose. However, with Stake Shield, you can protect yourself from this and ensure that if 1 or more leg loses, you can still win a payout.
How to Place a Multi Bet with Stake Shield?
Placing a multi bet and activating Stake Shield is very straightforward. Here’s how you can do it:
Add 3 or more legs to your bet slip. Note that Stake Shield will only be available to activate on multi bets with at least 3 legs.
Activate Stake Shield using the toggle in your bet slip.
Choose a win condition, selecting how many legs must win for your bet to pay out.
The adjusted odds and potential payout are shown in your bet slip. Check these and then confirm your bet to place it.
Example Multi Using Stake Shield
Let’s look at an example for Champions League soccer:
We placed a multi bet with Atletico Madrid, Newcastle United, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Real Madrid to all win their upcoming matches.
This standard multi bet offers odds of 5.88, resulting in a payout of $588.47 with a $100 stake if it were successful.
However, the risk is high, as we need every team to win for our bet to pay out.
If we activate the Stake Shield feature, we can choose to protect our multi bet if 1 leg loses, or if 1-2 legs lose.
The protection from 1 leg losing would give odds of 1.89 for a potential payout of $189.12, while the protection for 1-2 legs would give odds of 1.15 for a potential payout of $115.29.
The odds are adjusted because there’s a lower risk, and you have control over which condition you choose.
The more legs you add to your multi bet, the more protection you can get using Stake Shield, with protection from up to 1-5 legs losing for multi bets with 11 legs or more.
Which Sports & Events Offer Bets with Stake Shield?
Stake Shield is available to use on all sports and events at Stake Sportsbook. Provided your multi bet has at least 3 selections, you’ll be able to activate the feature in your bet slip.
