WTA Wimbledon 2026 - Women's Tennis Betting Markets, Tips & Live Stream
The Women’s Tennis Association is the main body in women’s tennis, responsible for arranging the biggest events and tournaments in the sport. With its headquarters in St. Petersburg, Florida, the WTA oversees elite women’s tennis worldwide.
The body was established in 1973 by Billie Jean King, one year after the formation of the men’s ATP Tour. The first WTA event was the inaugural Virginia Slims, won by Rosie Casals.
There are more than 50 events on the WTA Tour Calendar, comprising four Grand Slams and dozens of regular season events played in just under 30 different countries.
One of the biggest of these events, and the most prestigious and oldest Grand Slam on the calendar, is the Wimbledon Championships. The UK’s Grand Slam is the pinnacle of the sport for both men's and women's tennis players.
In this tennis betting guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about tennis betting for Wimbledon’s women’s singles at Stake Sportsbook.
Betting on WTA Wimbledon Women's Singles
Wimbledon is the most prestigious Grand Slam on the circuit, whether that’s the WTA Tour or the ATP Tour. It is older than all of the US Open, Australian Open, and French Open, making it a historic tournament that every player on the circuit dreams of. It is, as you would expect, also the UK’s premier tennis event, and carries with it a sense of pomp and ceremony.
Like all of the Slams, it is a straight knockout tournament, meaning that all players who qualify enter the first round and must win each match to progress. This throws up early-round upsets and fairytale stories from time to time, across all of the competitions, including:
Women’s Doubles
Mixed Doubles
Men’s Doubles
When & Where is the 2026 WTA Wimbledon Women's Singles
Wimbledon 2026 will take place from June 29 to July 12. The women’s singles final will usually take place the day before the men’s event, meaning that July 11 will likely be the date for the showpiece women’s event.
As has been the case for more than a century, the venue for the 2026 event will be the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Church Road in Wimbledon, London.
2025 Season Recap
2025 was a brilliant year for women’s tennis. Unlike the ATP Slams, where Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner shared all four equally, no player took home more than one in the WTA Tour. That meant that Iga Swiatek’s win on Centre Court stood out - it was her first final win there.
Her opponent on July 12, 2025, was Amanda Anisimova, the American who managed to make two finals that year. She lost here and at the US Open, and will have been bitterly disappointed to have not got a single game on the board in the final at Wimbledon, especially after defeating Aryna Sabalenka in the semis.
Elsewhere, Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula both lost in the first round, which was the first time since the Open Era began that two-thirds of the top three seeds in women’s competition had failed to progress past the first round of a major.
Who is Playing in the 2026 WTA Wimbledon Women's Singles?
There is still a lot of tennis to be played between now and Wimbledon’s first round, so there will be no certainty regarding who will take to the grass court stage in June. The top 32 seeds from the WTA rankings will enter the competition, and another 32 will be decided in qualifying and wild card entries.
The current top 10 in the WTA rankings, and some names likely to be at this year’s edition, are as follows as of January 15, 2026:
Aryna Sabalenka
Iga Swiatek
Coco Gauff
Amanda Anisimova
Elena Rybakina
Jessica Pegula
Jasmine Paolini
Mirra Andreeva
Madison Keys
Belinda Bencic

WTA Wimbledon Women's Singles Betting Strategies & Tips
Betting on tennis doesn't have to be complicated! But before placing your first WTA tennis bets, developing a tennis betting strategy is helpful. So, with that in mind, here are some betting tips to help you get started with your online sports betting:
Do research: It is important to know who you are betting on. Consider looking at head-to-head records and a player’s form on different surfaces, e.g. clay court or grass.
Become a betting expert: There are lots of terms and specifics to learn in sports betting, such as aspects like the vig, cash-outs, and different odds formats.
Strategise: You can check out our blog for information on different betting tactics, such as bankroll management strategies like the Kelly Criterion and the 1-3-2-6 system.
Don’t bet on names: In 2025, two of the three top seeds went out in the first round. Name recognition is not everything - Serena Williams didn’t win every time. Consider looking beyond the top stars.
Listen to experts: In any sport, there are some who have dedicated their lives to it. Tennis is no different. You can find Wimbledon picks from tennis experts, and you should use these to help pick out where the value lies.
