Bellator Betting Odds & Lines - Bet on MMA Online
Bellator MMA was a mixed martial arts promotion featuring some of the world’s best fighters. The organisation was acquired by the PFL in 2023, and Bellator was officially retired in 2025. You can bet on all MMA action, including PFL events, right here at Stake Sportsbook.
What is Bellator?
At one point, Bellator was the second-largest MMA promotion in the United States and one of the largest in the world. Its name comes from the Latin word for warrior, and it has held over 313 events since it was first founded. However, it has since merged with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) to offer a new generation of MMA events.
History of the Bellator MMA
Bellator was founded in 2008 by Chairman and CEO Bjorn Rebney. The very first event, Bellator 1, took place on 3 April 2009, with tournaments in multiple weight classes to determine the inaugural Bellator World Champions. Early on, most of the Bellator events were single-elimination tournaments.
In December 2011, media and entertainment conglomerate Paramount Global, then known as Viacom, purchased a majority stake in Bellator. Events were then broadcast over Viacom-owned networks in the US. In 2014, the promotion hosted its first-ever pay-per-view event, Bellator 120, which featured lots of notable names, including Michael Venom Page, Tito Ortiz, Michael Chandler, and Quinton Rampage Jackson.
In 2014, CEO Bjorn Rebney and President Tim Danaher were replaced by Strikeforce founder Scott Coker. The promotion shifted from a season-long tournament format to single-fight events, similar to UFC Fight Night events. However, it continued to hold grand-prix tournaments since 2018.
In 2023, Paramount Global announced it would be selling Bellator to the Professional Fighters League. A “mega event” featuring title fights between PFL champions and Bellator champions was held in February 2024. However, by the following year, PFL announced that the Bellator promotion would no longer exist, switching events to the PFL Champions Series. The final standalone Bellator event was Bellator 301, held in November 2023, 15 years after the organisation was first founded. Former Bellator fighters now compete in other organisations, including the PFL and UFC. For example, former Bellator heavyweight champion Ryan Bader has since competed in PFL and Rizin. Former Bellator light heavyweight world champion Corey Anderson won the PFL light heavyweight belt in 2025.
Format & Schedule of Bellator MMA
Although Bellator no longer holds events, Bellator fighters still compete in the PFL, with events held throughout the year. These include major tournaments such as the 2025 PFL World Tournament.

Bellator MMA Betting Tips, Predictions & Strategies
Styles make fights – In any MMA matchup, you want to consider the styles of each fighter before making your betting predictions. Some styles work better against specific styles than others. For example, a counterstriker will perform better against someone with a high-pressure style.
Research your bets – Always take care to analyse the available data on each fighter and their recent records. Check the quality of their opponents and their success in certain areas of each fight, and look up videos of their performances. Many MMA fights can be watched online.
Make the most of live odds – Live betting is a great opportunity to get better odds on your bets. The odds change in real-time as the fight plays out, so you can take advantage of price increases. Make sure you watch the live stream to gain a better understanding of which fighter is likely to win.
