FLASH JOHNSON (9) recorded another strong performance last start when he battled on bravely to finish second over 1690m at Shepparton, adding to a good third on debut at Coolamon the run prior. Will need an ounce of luck to slot in from this tricky draw. Taking on a better field but he is up to the task. KIRPHILBRI (3) has been racing well of late. Finished third at his latest appearance over 1660m at Parkes, beaten 6 metres. A nice draw on the front line should ensure a cosy run. Must raise the bar but a trip to the winners' circle is not out of the question. BELLE OF BELMONT (10) is in the mix following a respectable second at her most recent appearance over 1680m at Forbes. LACEY CAKES (7) is next in line but might need a few good breaks from an awkward draw.
