What is UFC Freedom 250?
The UFC Freedom 250 is a special mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It’s held to commemorate America’s 250th year of independence and celebrate the birthday of US President Donald Trump, with the event itself held on the South Lawn of the White House. The fighter weigh-ins will take place at the Lincoln Memorial.

He has 9 wins in the UFC, and has finished his last 3 opponents, Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira, who were all champions. After winning the featherweight title and defending it once, he moved to the lightweight division, winning the title last summer.
Justin Gaethje
Gatheje is a 2-time interim champion in the UFC, winning his first title against Tony Ferguson in 2020 before losing the unification fight against Khabib. He recently won the title a 2nd time by beating Paddy Pimblett in January. Overall, his record stands at 27-5, with 10 wins and 5 losses in the UFC. He’s best known for his aggressive, heavy-handed style and has 6 UFC wins by KO/TKO.
Alex Pereira
Pereira’s UFC run has been legendary, seeing him beat his former kickboxing rival, Israel Adesanya, to win the middleweight title in 2022. After losing the rematch, Pereira moved up to light heavyweight, capturing the belt and recording 3 consecutive defences. He lost to Ankalaev, before defeating him in round 1 of the rematch and will now move up to heavyweight to challenge for his 3rd belt. Overall, his MMA record now stands at 13-3, with 10 wins and 2 losses in the UFC. 80% of his wins are by KO/TKO.
Ciryl Gane
Gane has had an impressive UFC career, with 10 wins and 2 losses. However, those losses have both come in heavyweight title fights, firstly against Francis Ngannou in 2022 and secondly against Jon Jones in 2023. His last fight was a no contest against the current champion, Tom Aspinall, with the fight stopped due to an eye poke in the first round. Of Gane’s UFC wins, 4 are by KO/TKO, and 2 are by submission.

Main Event
This lightweight title unification bout is a massive fight between two fighters who are known for their hard-hitting power and aggression. Topuria has finished his last 3 opponents, all of whom were either current or former champions. Now, he’ll be looking to do the same to Gaethje. He’s the heavy betting favourite according to the latest UFC odds.
Gaethje has been one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC. Although he’s managed to hold the interim title twice, he’s yet to secure the unified belt, and this could be his last opportunity. He looked good against Pimblett in his last fight, but the odds have him as a big underdog as he’s been caught and knocked out before.
Co-Main Event
Pereira could make history as the first UFC fighter to win belts in 3 separate divisions. He’s been given a straight shot at the interim title, which he arguably deserves thanks to his performances at middleweight and light heavyweight. He was always big for the divisions below, so it will be interesting to see how he looks when he weighs in at up to 265 lbs.
Currently, the MMA odds between these two are more or less even, with Ciryl Gane as the slight underdog. It’s likely to be a pure striking contest, but Gane may need to use grappling to neutralise the threat of Pereira’s left hook.
