Introduction to the PGL CS2 Esport Events

PGL Esports is a Romanian Esports event organiser responsible for holding many of the largest Esports competitions in the world. PGL focuses on Dota 2 and CS2, and has been organising Counter-Strike tournaments since 2015. The most recent PGL CS2 event, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026, took place in February of this year. 16 teams faced off at the BT Arena in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with the top 8 teams making it to the playoffs after the group stage.

Team Vitality, The MongolZ, MOUZ and PARIVISION made it through the quarter finals, with Team Vitality and PARIVISION going on to the Grand Final. MOUZ beat The MongolZ in the third-place match, while Team Vitality were declared champions after winning the Grand Final 3-0.

PGL Bucharest 2026 Format

3-7 April - Group Stage

16 teams play in the Swiss System format, with 5 rounds. All matches in the Swiss System group stage are played to the best of 3 games. Teams progress to the next stage by winning 3 matches, while the remaining 8 teams are sent home.

9-11 April - Playoffs

The top 8 teams from the group stage will compete in the playoffs for the biggest share of the $625,000 prize pool. This single-elimination playoff bracket features matches that are played to the best of 3 games. However, the Grand Final is played to the best of 5. The winners of the tournament take home $200,000 in prize money, while the 2nd place team gets $93,750, 3rd place gets $75,000, and 4th place team receives $43,750.
