Introduction to Counter-Strike 2 ESL Pro League Betting

The ESL Pro League is the world’s premier professional Counter-Strike league and one of the most important professional leagues across all major Esports. It features top teams from around the world, all competing for a share of the $1 million prize pool.

The ESL Pro League consists of 3 major stages, with teams receiving an invite based on their Valve Regional Standings (VRS).

When is ESL Pro League Season 23?

Season 23 of the ESL Pro League takes place this March. The online stages will be held between 1 and 10 March, while the LAN playoffs get underway on 13 March at the Annexet in Stockholm, Sweden. The Grand Final will decide the champion on 15 March.

History of the ESL Pro League Tournament

The Electronic Sports League organisation created the European ESL back in November 2014, but in 2015, it agreed to a joint venture with the North American-based E-Sports Entertainment Association League to create a global Counter-Strike league.

The very first season of the ESL Pro League offered $500,000 in prize money for the finals and was won by Fnatic. Over time, the format changed to introduce more teams to the final stage, and the prize pool was increased to $1 million.

Originally, the ESL was composed of four regional leagues, with teams competing against opponents from the same geographical region. The top four teams from each continent would then progress to the finals and receive an automatic invitation to the next season. However, the ESL Pro League was unified into a single league in 2021, starting with Season 13.

Since 2017, the ESL Pro League has been part of the ESL Grand Slam, which offers additional prizes to the first team that wins 4 major events during the season.

The ESL Pro League has had a total of 14 winning teams since its inception. MOUZ holds the record for most wins, having won back-to-back titles in Season 18 and 19 to add to their success in Season 10 when the team was known as mousesports.
