AVOCA BLUES (7) registered another strong performance last time when he battled on bravely to just miss out over 2190m at this track. Gets a soft run on the inside of the second line but may need luck at some point. Meets a comparable field and he can take this out. TO THE NINES (3) is in good form with top-five finishes at his last eight starts, most recently recording a third over 1609m at Charlton. Has the benefit of a good draw and he is up to the challenge. NEVS DREAM (1) is worth another chance after a last-start 11th over 2190m here three weeks ago. Can bounce back from the coveted pegs. MIDNIGHT PIRATE (8) is next in line but might need a few good breaks from an awkward draw.
