SMOTHER (7) struggled to make ground in the wet here last week but had finished strongly on firmer tracks in his two runs prior. He backs up quickly over the same trip and gets a key rider switch to Ben Melham. Capable of bouncing back. VANITEUX (5) closed off well alongside Smother last start, and her sectionals suggest the rise in distance will suit. The draw may see her settle a long way back, but expect her to be charging home late. BOLTED IN (9) was left with too much to do here last week but hit the line nicely to just miss the placings. He's rock-hard fit and loses nothing with Lloyd replacing J Melham. OCEANS ABOVE (2) brings different formlines into this and should appreciate the rise in trip. Drawn kinder on the quick back-up, he's among the chances. ROUSING REFRAIN (8) continues to give away big starts but is another that can make things interesting late if the tempo is genuine.
