There will be a week of qualification before the competition proper gets underway, with this deciding the rest of the unseeded players to make the grade. That could include a player whom Serena Williams will be watching extremely closely, even if she retired in 2022 alongside Australian star Ashleigh Barty.
Venus Williams is 45 years old now, and appearing at this year’s tournament would represent a feat in itself. However, she has the chance to join her sister on seven Wimbledon wins if she can somehow pull off the seemingly impossible. Others involved in qualification will include the likes of Victoria Azarenka.
