What is Dota 2's BLAST Slam Series?
The BLAST Slam tournament is organised by BLAST, a Danish Esports organisation that is best known for its Counter-Strike events. However, in 2024, BLAST launched the BLAST Slam tournament series for professional Dota 2. The first of these tournaments took place in November/December of that year. Since then, there have been 5 BLAST Slam events. From BLAST Slam 4, 12 teams compete for a $1 million prize pool.

Team Falcons and Tundra Esports topped the group stage of BLAST Slam V, earning automatic spots in the semifinals. They were joined by Team Yandex and MOUZ, which had progressed through the play-in and playoffs. Team Yandex defeated Team Falcons while Tundra Esports beat MOUZ. The Grand Final saw Tundra Esports crowned champions, taking home $400,000 in prize money and team earnings after defeating Team Yandex 3-0.
Format & Structure of BLAST Slam 6
February 3-5 - Group Stage
12 teams enter the group stage, competing in a round-robin format. Each team plays every other team in the group, with matches played as single games. The top 2 teams automatically advance to the semifinals, while the 3rd to 8th place teams enter the play-in round. The 9th to 12th place teams compete in the last chance playoff.
February 6-8 - Last Chance Playoff and Play-In
During this stage, all matches are played to the best of 3 games. Winners advance to the quarterfinals of the playoffs, while the losing teams are eliminated.
February 13-15 - Playoffs
The playoffs are a single-elimination bracket, with matches played to the best of 5 games.

Tundra Esports - Tundra Esports have an incredible record in this competition, having won the last 4 BLAST Slam tournaments. The only BLAST Slam event they didn’t win was the inaugural tournament, which they finished as runners-up. Their current roster features 33, bzm, Pure, Ari, and Whitemon.
Team Yandex - Yandex were runners-up at BLAST Slam V but finished DreamLeague Season 27 as champions. Their current active roster features watson, CHIRA_JUNIOR, Notice,d and Malady.

The last major Dota 2 patch, 7.40, was released on December 15, 2025. It introduced the new hero, Largo. While also having a major impact on gameplay. The current meta sees professional matches that typically involve high-tempo, skirmish-heavy playstyles. Early and mid-game teamfights often decide the outcome of a game.
Many professional Dota 2 teams now prioritize heroes with strong laning phases in order to secure early advantages.
